Malaysia is set to become an aged nation in 2030, by which time 15% of the population will be above 60 years old. The World Health Organization defines "healthy ageing" as a "continuous process of optimising opportunities to maintain and improve physical and mental health, independence, and quality of life throughout the life course".
Top Glove Foundation decided to collaborate with Klinik Kesihatan Pandamaran (KKP) which organises "Program Kesihatan Warga Emas" for the senior citizens, to promote the concept of healthy ageing through a variety of programmes.
These monthly programmes, which began in March 2022, can be attended either physically or virtually. The programmes focus on Health Talks related to ageing, physical exercise sessions suitable for the elderly and monthly health screenings.
