Top Glove, a leading glove manufacturer, has earned a spot on the 2023 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI) for the second consecutive year, thanks to its commitment to gender equality and equal opportunities for all employees.

The GEI, which measures gender equality across five pillars, includes a total of 484 companies from 45 countries and regions across 11 sectors.

Top Glove scored 75.07, a marked improvement from last year and above average among its peers in the industrials sector. The company is one of four Malaysian firms to be included in the 2023 GEI.

Top Glove's Managing Director, Mr Lim Cheong Guan, stated that the company has always believed in creating a work environment where all employees can advance their personal and professional aspirations, based on their own merit.

Diversity

The company has implemented several initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion, such as fully paid maternity leave, family care leave, work from home policies, and nursing rooms. It also runs women empowerment programs and has a Talent Development and Leadership Development Program for all employees.

Top Glove submitted a social survey to be considered for inclusion in the GEI and scored above the global threshold set by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and best-in-class statistics and policies. The GEI is voluntary and not ranked, and all public companies are encouraged to disclose supplemental gender data on the Bloomberg Terminal. Those with a market capitalization of USD 1 billion are eligible for inclusion in the Index.

In conclusion, Top Glove's inclusion in the 2023 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index for the second year in a row is a testament to the company's commitment to promoting gender equality and creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.
