TOP GLOVE TOWER UNVEILED AND TOP GLOVE TO EMBARK ON RM3BILLION EXPANSION PLAN, GRANTED ENTRY POINT PROJECT (EPP) BY PEMANDU

Shah Alam, Thursday, July 19, 2012: Top Glove Corporation Berhad (“Top Glove”) celebrated the ground breaking ceremony of their new corporate office building today in Setia City, Shah Alam, Selangor. Sited on 2 acres of land, Top Glove Tower will be a 23-floor Grade A and Green Building Index certified corporate office building consisting of 14 floors of offices, 2 floors of retail and 7 floors of car park spaces and is located adjacent to the Setia City Mall. The building is expected to be completed by December 2014.

The Mayor of Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam, Dato’ Haji Mohd Jaafar bin Mohd Atan, was the guest of honor at the ceremony. Present were Tan Sri Lim Wee Chai Top Glove’s Chairman, Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Bin Ayub, Mr. KM Lee Managing Director, Puan Sri Tong Siew Bee, Mr. Lim Cheong Guan, Mr. Lim Han Boon, business associates, staff of Top Glove and other VIPs.

According to Tan Sri Lim, “We envision Top Glove Tower to be a world class corporate office building providing Grade A and Green Index Building certified corporate office space in Setia City, a thriving new township in the city of Shah Alam. Upon completion, we aim to centralise most of our management personnel in Top Glove Tower to improve communication and operational efficiency.”

The building is strategically located near to Top Glove’s 16 advanced manufacturing facilities in Meru, Klang. It is also very close to port facilities, and a convenient 45 minutes’ drive to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Top Glove is planning to invest RM3billion over the next 15 years to further expand on production capacity with advanced and high technology production facilities as well as invest in R&D, upstream and downstream activities. This significant investment has been recognised as an Entry Point Project by Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) by the Malaysian Government.

Tan Sri Lim further added that Top Glove Tower is an eco-friendly office building incorporating the latest environmental technologies. The Management is targeting to achieve the Green Building Index Gold certification for the building in due course.

A host of green features permit sustainable, energy-efficient operation for electricity and airconditioning consumption such as technologically advanced windows for optimum heat insulation and shielding from glare and centralised air-conditioning system supported by flexible zonal control. On top of that, the building is fully equipped to harvest rain water for landscaping usage.

It also marks a new milestone in the successful history of our company to reflect our dynamism, our global brand and corporate image”, added Tan Sri Lim.
